🏉 Far North Coast All Schools Touch Football 🏉
Last week we entered teams into the Years 7/8 and Years 9/10 Boys and Girls divisions of the Far North Coast All Schools Touch Football competition held at Saunders Oval, Ballina.
This was the first time EAC had entered this competition and it was a great opportunity for our students to compete against schools from outside our regular NCIS opponents.
All teams performed well up against some strong competition. The standout being our Year 7/8 Boys who finished the pool games undefeated on top of the ladder and comfortably won their semi, but were heartbreakingly beaten in extra time in the grand final by Xavier Catholic College.
Thank you to Al Kirchen from Ballina Touch for assisting staff in coaching our teams. We can’t wait until next year.

Next week EAC's kindergarten teachers will begin the Australian Early Development Census. The AEDC helps to build a nationwide picture of our children's health and wellbeing as they begin school.
Teachers answer questions about five key areas that are important for children's development:
- physical health and wellbeing
- social competence
- emotional maturity
- language and cognitive skills (school based)
- communication and general knowledge

⚽ BILL TURNER CAMPAIGNS COME TO AN END ⚽
Both our U15 Boys and Girls Football teams played their respective Bill Turner fixtures at Saunders Oval. The boys faced Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School in Round 4 of the Bill Turner Cup, with a ticket to the regional final against Trinity Catholic College on the line. Despite numerous opportunities and a scoreless first half, our boys eventually went down 2-0, ending what looked like a very promising 2024 campaign.
The girls then faced Xavier Catholic College in their Round 3 clash for the Bill Turner Trophy. A first half goal to Layla Patrick put our girls in front, however the lead was short lived with Xavier quickly returning serve with a goal of their own. An unlikely red card to the opposing goalkeeper put our girls within reach of victory, however the match finished regular time 1-1. Going into golden goal extra time, Xavier quickly found the back of our net and it was all said and done.
Congratulations to all students and coaching staff for their success in making it this far into these competitions.
